ASU Receives Record $115M Donation from Rob Walton

Arizona State University (ASU) has received a record-breaking donation of $115 million from Rob Walton, the former chairman of Walmart and son of its founder Sam Walton. This generous gift will significantly impact the university's academic landscape.

The donation will establish the Rob Walton School of Conservation Futures, set to commence operations in late 2025. This new school will initially offer training programs and certificates, with plans to introduce graduate and undergraduate degrees in the future.

In addition to founding the new school, Walton's donation will create a chair position and three named professorships. However, the identity of the chairperson remains unknown at this time. The donation also establishes the Rob Walton Scholars scholarship fund, ensuring financial support for deserving students.

In recognition of this substantial gift, ASU will rename its College of Global Futures to the Rob Walton College of Global Futures.

With this $115 million donation, Rob Walton has made the largest gift in ASU's history. The funds will be used to establish the Rob Walton School of Conservation Futures, create academic positions, and support students through scholarships. The renaming of the College of Global Futures reflects the university's gratitude for Walton's transformative generosity.
