Bremen Launches Major Daycare Reform for Working Parents
Bremen's Senate has launched a significant reform on March 5th, 2023, aiming to revamp the Bremen Act on the Promotion of Children in Daycare Facilities and in Daycare. The primary goal is to establish large-scale daycare facilities, offering both individual care and group experiences for children, while also benefiting daycare providers and working parents.
The proposed regulations seek to create an additional reliable care option for parents and children. Large-scale daycare offers advantages for providers, including the opportunity to exchange ideas, support each other, and share the workload. This model also benefits daycare providers by providing social security and wage-based employment.
Group daycare allows for several caregivers to be present, ensuring temporary replacement in case of short-term absence. This reform is part of Bremen's effort to lead the way in opening up a variety of options for childcare providers, ultimately benefiting both colleagues and parents.
Bremen's reform aims to create an additional reliable care option for parents and children, while also providing benefits for daycare providers. The establishment of large-scale daycare facilities is expected to enhance the quality of care and support working parents in the city.
