CBSE Examination Results for the Year 2025: Outstanding Participation in Classes 10 and 12, Notable Increase in Success Rates
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the results for Class 10 and Class 12 examinations held in 2025. Here are the key findings from the results.
In Class 10, an impressive pass percentage of 93.66% was recorded, with several students achieving perfect scores in individual subjects. Southern cities like Trivandrum, Vijaywada, Chennai, and Bengaluru recorded near-perfect scores. Notably, 411 students with special needs scored above 90%, and 66 scored above 95%. Among the high scorers were Manya Mangal, Shrey Bhartiya, Aahana Parija, Gunika Arora, and Kaavya Mathur. Transgender students also performed exceptionally well, with a 95% pass rate in Class 10 and a 100% pass rate in Class 12.
In Class 12, the pass percentage was 88.39%. Girls outperformed boys, with a 91.64% pass rate for Class 12 girls and a 85.70% pass rate for boys. Savi Jain from Scottish International School was the Class 12 topper, scoring 499 out of 500. Regional disparities were evident, with some regions like Prayagraj and Guwahati showing relatively lower performance.
Supplementary exams for both classes will follow the same syllabus, marking CBSE's efforts to align with the National Education Policy 2020. These exams are designed to provide opportunities for students to improve their scores in specific subjects. Class 10 students can take supplementary exams for up to two subjects, while Class 12 students can take them for one subject.
CBSE conducted the exams across 26,675 schools and 7,837 centers for Class 10, and over 19,000 schools and 7,330 centers for Class 12. Free counseling services for students and families are being provided post-result. Students can view their results on various websites, including cbseresults.nic.in, results.cbse.nic.in, and cbse.gov.in, or through the UMANG App and DigiLocker.
Digital marksheets are available via DigiLocker using the credentials sent by SMS to registered mobile numbers. The data suggests a need for further analysis of the performance gap between genders, particularly in Class 12. Government-aided schools saw relatively lower pass rates, especially in Class 10.
In terms of school-wise performance, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) and Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) students typically performed well, with high pass percentages. However, specific 2025 data is not provided. In 2024, JNV and KV students had pass percentages of 99.09% and 99.05%, respectively.
