Military Operation Reminiscent of War: Trump Sparks Controversy in Chicago - Chicago incited by Trump

In a series of controversial moves, former U.S. President Donald Trump has hinted at a potential military deployment in Chicago, Illinois. This comes after Trump announced plans to intervene massively against alleged rampant crime in several cities, including Chicago.

Trump's threats were met with strong opposition from Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, a Democrat, who deemed them unworthy of a president and called for defending democracy from Trump's authoritarianism. Johnson's concerns were echoed by Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, who expressed serious concern over the hinted military deployment in Chicago, stating it is not a joke and not normal.

The suggestion of a military deployment in Chicago follows Trump's activation of the National Guard and placing the local police under federal control in Washington for similar reasons. Trump has also proposed similar deployments in the Democrat-led cities of Memphis (Tennessee), New York City, and Washington D.C. to combat crime.

Trump's plans for Chicago are still unclear. He did not specify what he plans to do, how far his plans have progressed, whether he will mobilize the National Guard again, or when such an operation could begin.

Meanwhile, ICE operations, known for raids with masked officers, have already taken place in Chicago and other states, with additional resources planned. These operations have been met with protests against Trump's aggressive immigration policy.

In Los Angeles, ICE operations were justified with alleged chaos and resistance against ICE officers. The West Coast metropolis has been one of the democratically governed cities where Trump's government has intervened, with the National Guard mobilized.

Trump's post on Truth Social, which included an AI-generated graphic depicting the Chicago skyline reminiscent of the war film "Apocalypse Now," was captioned with the words "I love the smell of deportations in the morning." The graphic read: "Chicago must find out why the U.S. Department of Defense has been renamed the War Ministry."

Demonstrations against Trump's military deployments and ICE operations have continued over the weekend in Washington and Chicago. Protests against Trump's aggressive immigration policy and authoritarian tendencies are becoming a common sight in many U.S. cities.
