Cooler Master Expands Manufacturing Operations in Bac Ninh, Vietnam

Cooler Master, a global leader in cooling solutions for AI servers, machine learning systems, and data centers, is planning a major expansion of its operations in Bac Ninh Province, Vietnam. The expansion includes the lease of an additional 11 hectares of land in the Gia Binh Industrial Park.

The new facilities will focus on manufacturing cooling modules, with a potential investment of between $800 million and $900 million. The project is expected to generate an annual revenue of approximately $3 billion. While there is mention of facilities related to AI server cooling, the available information does not confirm plans for an AI research center or a technical training school as part of this expansion.

Kinh Bac People's Committee has shown support for Cooler Master's expansion, committing to providing assistance with land allocation, planning information, and infrastructure development. The committee has also suggested high-rise building models that integrate worker accommodation and vocational training to optimize land use and support long-term business growth.

Meanwhile, Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation has paid a land-use rights fee of VND6.86 trillion ($265.2 million) for residential land in Trang Cat Urban and Service Area ahead of schedule. This swift implementation could create a ripple effect in attracting high-tech investments to the province.

In a separate development, KTG Industrial has launched phase 1 of VSIP Bac Ninh 2, a LEED Gold-certified ready-built factory. The development is designed with a focus on sustainable growth and ESG principles, as shown by its LEED Gold certification.

LH, a Korean firm, has also expressed interest in cooperating with Bac Ninh in developing an urban project. Tuan, the provincial chairman, expressed confidence that LH's expertise and experience would contribute to a modern urban landscape in Bac Ninh.

The province of Kinh Bac is offering preferential policies for high-tech workforce training, particularly in AI. The first phase of Cooler Master's operations is expected to commence in early 2026.

Cooler Master is also considering collaborating with Bac Ninh to establish an AI research center. The launch of VSIP Bac Ninh 2 by KTG Industrial includes an environmental initiative: the planting of 5,000 trees across 10 hectares of reforested land.

Interestingly, Cooler Master is also considering establishing a technical training school to supply skilled labour for the high-tech industry. This move could further boost the province's growing tech sector.

In conclusion, Cooler Master's expansion in Bac Ninh promises to bring significant investment, employment opportunities, and technological advancements to the province. The collaboration between Cooler Master, KTG Industrial, LH, and the local government is a testament to the province's commitment to attracting high-tech investments and promoting sustainable growth.
