Special Scholarship Program Announced by CTEVT for Marginalized Communities

The Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) has announced a special scholarship program for Dalit, Muslim, Disadvantaged, and Marginalized Communities in Nepal. This initiative aims to promote free technical education under the Government of Nepal budget provisions for the fiscal year 2082/83.

Eligibility and Requirements

The scholarship is open to students who have passed the SLC or equivalent examination with compulsory Mathematics, English, and Science, or those who have passed the technical SLC/pre-diploma level with at least 68.33% total marks from CTEVT in a relevant subject.

For Diploma and Pre-Diploma level programs, a total of 360 seats are allocated. The programs offered include General Medicine, Medical Lab Technology, Hotel Management, Agriculture, Civil Engineering, Automobile Engineering, and more.

The selection process is based on the GPA obtained in the SEE examination and a bonus score system. For health and non-health diploma/certificate level programs, the minimum GPA requirement is 1.6 out of 4.0.

Application Process

The application process is free of cost and can be completed online. The deadline for application submission is 2082 Shrawan 29 (Thursday) at 11:59 PM.

Students already studying under any other CTEVT program are not eligible to apply. If found, the application will be cancelled. For programs other than General Medicine and Lab Tech, CTEVT's Technical Division will assign institutions for admission.

Scholarship Benefits

Selected students will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 3,500, an annual travel allowance of Rs. 1,500, an annual clothing allowance of Rs. 2,500, and free hostel accommodation throughout training.

Assigned Institutions

The assigned institutions for the Diploma and Pre-Diploma Level Special Scholarship Program include several polytechnic and technical institutes. For Certificate Level Programs, some named assigned institutions are Shree Ratna Kumar Bantawa Polytechnic Institute, Ilam, and Shree Nirmal Lama Polytechnic Institute (location not specified).

The full list of all assigned institutions can be found in the official CTEVT scholarship notice. This scholarship covers students from recognized marginalized groups, including 22 indigenous communities and bonded laborers categories.

Broadening the Reach of Technical Education

This scholarship is part of broader efforts to support students from 78 local levels lacking access to technical education. A separate scholarship of 120 seats has been allocated for these areas. Applicants must submit required documentation and apply online in the specified timeframe.
