Demonstrating Solidarity for Democracy on the 16th Offenbach Prevention Day
The 16th Offenbach Prevention Day took place on Thursday, September 18, at the Ringcenter on Odenwaldring. This annual event, organised by the E4 (Prevention) department of the Police Headquarters Southeast Hesse, aimed to explore the unique aspects, freedoms, and opportunities for participation that democracy offers.
The main target group for the Prevention Day were students in classes 8 and 9 from various Offenbach schools. However, the event attracted individuals of all ages, including students and potential career changers, who expressed their enthusiasm for joining the police force.
The Prevention Day was opened with greetings from councilor Paul-Gerhard Weiß and the head of the Offenbach Police Directorate, Marc Göbel. The E4 department of the Police Headquarters Southeast Hesse annually focuses on delivering prevention topics to specific student groups.
During this year's Prevention Day, students participated in the Democracy Quiz, where each basket shot was accompanied by a question. Over 30 associations and organizations presented aid and prevention offers at the event.
The interaction between students and police officers at the event often sparked interest in pursuing a career in the police. The head of the E4 department at the Police Headquarters Southeast Hesse is not explicitly named, but Jesse, a Police Chief Inspector, is identified as the deputy head of the Prevention E4 unit there.
