Exhibition 'Never Forget' Highlights Rising Violence Against Public Sector Workers in Baden-Württemberg
The exhibition 'Never Forget, ein Mensch arbeitet hier' has opened in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg. Organised by the Zentrum für Erinnerungskultur, it showcases the experiences of public sector employees who have been victims of assaults. The exhibition is an initiative of the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) and its member unions, and is open until October 23, 2025.
The exhibition features 32 motifs, each telling a story of violence against employees in the public sector. In 2024 alone, over 14,000 attacks were reported against police officers, with around 300 incidents involving firefighters and rescue workers, and over 1,600 acts of violence against other public sector employees in Baden-Württemberg. Deputy Minister President and Minister of the Interior Thomas Strobl opened the exhibition on October 1, 2025, highlighting the increasing trend of violence against these workers.
This is the first time the exhibition is being shown in Baden-Württemberg. It aims to raise awareness about the issue and honour the victims of these attacks.
The 'Never Forget, ein Mensch arbeitet hier' exhibition is a stark reminder of the increasing violence faced by public sector employees in Baden-Württemberg. It is a call to remember the human faces behind the statistics and to work towards creating safer working environments for these essential workers.
