Faryna's Traffic Safety Concerts a Hit in Herford District
The 'Safe on the Roads' project and the Faryna concerts, aimed at teaching traffic safety to children, have been a hit in the Herford district. Initiated by the 'Traffic Safety' working group and the police, these events have been running for seven years, with musician 'Faryna' leading the charge.
Faryna, known for her engaging performances, was recently awarded the 'Roter Ritter' prize by the Kinder-Unfallhilfe e.V. for promoting traffic safety. This year alone, she will give over 15 concerts, reaching around 2,800 first-graders in the district. The concerts feature plush traffic light characters 'Red' and 'Green', and active support from traffic safety consultant Andrea Kumpert.
The concert on September 26, 2025, at the Kulturfabrik in Vlotho was a resounding success. County Commissioner Jürgen Müller, who attended the event, praised it, saying, 'It was a joy to see the children's shining eyes during the performance.' Müller even joined Faryna on stage for a dance. Faryna's songs teach children essential safe traffic behaviors, such as visibility, using traffic lights, and cycling safety.
The 'Safe on the Roads' project and Faryna concerts continue to make a significant impact in the Herford district. With over 15 concerts planned this year, reaching nearly 3,000 children, the initiative is expected to instill vital traffic safety knowledge in the next generation.
