Puntallana Hosts Successful "Telescope Meeting," Promoting Astronomy and Dark Sky Preservation
On the evening of September 27, the municipality of Puntallana played host to the "Telescope Meeting," attracting approximately 60 participants, including families with children, for an evening dedicated to stargazing and raising awareness about the importance of maintaining dark skies. The event was part of the AstroFest 2024 series, and served as an informative gathering on astronomical observation techniques and the significance of combating light pollution. The municipality's town hall lights were dimmed to provide attendees with an optimal astronomical experience.

Both young and old attendees took part in observing stars, planets, and other celestial bodies, making for an unforgettable night under the clear skies of Puntallana.
Special thanks are extended to the Society for Economic and Social Promotion and Development of La Palma - SODEPAL, who invited us to the event, and to the Tourism department of the La Palma Cabildo, who provided funding.
