Germany's 'Shift Change' Day: Customs Officers Swap Places with Disabled Workers
Today marks Germany's nationwide 'Shift Change' action day, an initiative promoting inclusion by swapping workplaces between people with and without disabilities. This year, 19 main customs offices across the country participated, including the main customs office in Potsdam.
The 'Shift Change' action day, now in its several years of existence, saw customs officers from the Potsdam office trading places with employees of the DRK Behindertenwerkstätten Potsdam gGmbH's workshop for individuals with disabilities. Despite the participation of 19 main customs offices, the specific names of these teams remain unlisted.
Dr. Armin Rolfink, President of the General Customs Administration, joined the workplace swap, commending the initiative's focus on fostering understanding and inclusion. In the coming days, workshop employees will make return visits to the customs offices, further cementing the bonds formed today.
The 'Shift Change' action day has successfully brought together customs officers and workshop employees, promoting dialogue and understanding. With 19 main customs offices participating, the initiative continues to grow, highlighting the importance of inclusion in the office 365.
