Historic Swiss Schools to Undergo Changes for Modern Education

Two historic school buildings in Diessenhofen, Thurgau, Switzerland, are set to undergo changes. The old structures, designed by architect Friedrich Krämer around 1903/04 and later by TF Architektur, no longer align with today's educational needs.

The buildings, originally designed for the Oberrealschule (now Johannes-Kepler-Gymnasium) and a post-war conventional building, face challenges meeting the demands of modern pedagogy. Despite their historical significance, the outdated architecture hinders contemporary teaching methods. The department of education has plans to renovate or replace these structures to better suit current educational requirements.
