Empowering Students in Koblenz: Caritas Self-Empowerment Trainings for Youth
The Caritas association in Koblenz is organising self-empowerment trainings for students of Koblenzer Gymnasien and St. Franziskus Realschule Plus in November. These trainings aim to help participants discover, rediscover, appreciate, and carry their strengths into daily life.
The trainings will be held in the form of eight weekly meetings, starting on different dates for different age groups. Students from grades 5 to 7 will commence their trainings on November 14, while those in grades 9 to 11 will start on November 12. The meetings will take place at the Haus des Jugendrechts, Neustadt 9, 56068 Koblenz.
The self-empowerment trainings are funded by the city of Koblenz, the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, and the diocese of Trier. They are designed for different age groups to best address the individual abilities of participants. The trainings are free of charge, and registrations are being accepted now. Registrations for the trainings for grades 5 - 7 will be considered in the order they are received, with the deadline for registration being November 3, and registrations for the trainings for grades 9 - 11 have a deadline of November 7.
While specific details about the content of these trainings are not available, related information indicates that they are likely to focus on empowering youth through social integration, personal responsibility, and communication skills. These themes are consistent with Caritas's youth work ethos and the objectives of similar youth work organizations.
In addition to these self-empowerment trainings, the school social work team led by Thorsten Lemke, head of the Ambulant Youth Welfare and coordinator of school social work, offers regular holiday activities and parent forums.
It's worth noting that there is a broader career/engagement event near Koblenz in November that addresses social sustainability, international development, and social innovation for students and young professionals. While not explicitly Caritas trainings, this event aims at empowering youth through knowledge and networking in socially impactful fields.
For precise program details, contacting Caritas Koblenz directly or checking their official website or local event calendars would be necessary.
