Hotel Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe welcomes 13 fresh-faced apprentices, brimming with energy and eagerness to start their careers.
In a bid to nurture the next generation of hospitality professionals, the prestigious Wald & Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe has welcomed 13 new apprentices. Director Rolf E. Brönnimann emphasises the importance of offering young people a solid training with prospects, as the hotel prides itself on having won many talents for their training program.
The age range of the apprentices is diverse, from 17 to 30 years, indicating the attraction of the training at all stages of life. The newcomers include eight cooks, one restaurant professional, and four hotel specialists. Three apprentices are starting in the FHG model, which combines theory and practice optimally.
Nine of the newcomers are from the region, while internationality is growing with talents from Ukraine, Vietnam, and Thailand. The training at Wald & Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe is designed to prepare apprentices for careers in upscale hospitality. Apprentices pass through various areas of the hotel and attend workshops, excursions, and external events, learning the highest service standards in an international environment.
The shortage of skilled workers is a significant challenge in the industry, according to Director Brönnimann. To tackle this issue, the hotel provides comprehensive hotel training to its apprentices. Three of the new apprentices have switched employers, appreciating the diversity and development opportunities of the hotel. Some of the new apprentices already have a completed apprenticeship or degree.
The apprentices are given responsibility from the start at the 5-star hotel. They are guided by experienced professionals who ensure they learn the ropes efficiently. The hotel now has a total of 31 apprentices, including 16 in the kitchen and three dual students in business administration/hotel management, food management, and nutritional advice.
