IIF Launches Nigeria Inclusive Capital Commitment 2035 to Drive GESI Roadmap

The Impact Investors Foundation (IIF) has launched a significant campaign, the Nigeria Inclusive Capital Commitment 2035, to drive the delivery of its recently unveiled Gender Equity and Social Inclusion (GESI) Roadmap 2025-2035. This ambitious initiative seeks to create 40 inclusive financial products and mobilise $1.5 billion in domestic capital pools by 2035.

Developed in collaboration with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Nigeria, the GESI Roadmap 2025-2035 aims to unlock economic opportunities for women, youth, and People with Disabilities (PwDs) in Nigeria. The campaign encourages stakeholders to pledge measurable action in mobilising inclusive capital, embedding GESI principles, and delivering real outcomes.

The roadmap has set an ambitious cumulative capital target of $8 billion by 2035. It targets 90% adoption of GESI principles among General Partners and the enactment of 20 new policy and regulatory instruments. Additionally, the roadmap aims to raise $8 billion in gender-inclusive capital over the next decade.

In support of this initiative, the Bank of Industry (BOI) has launched a special intervention programme, Project Guaranteed Loans for Women (GLOW), valued at N10 billion. This programme is designed to support female entrepreneurs in Nigeria.

The Nigeria Inclusive Capital Commitment 2035 campaign, driven by the GESI Roadmap 2025-2035, sets a clear path for inclusive growth in Nigeria's economy. With the support of stakeholders and initiatives like BOI's GLOW programme, the campaign seeks to create a more inclusive financial landscape, benefiting women, youth, and PwDs.
