Inclusive Job Fair Attracts 300 Visitors in Landshut, Promoting Accessible Employment
Last weekend, the inaugural Inclusive Job Fair took place at the Ergoldinger Town Hall, attracting over 300 visitors, including many with disabilities or chronic illnesses. Sponsored by Landrat Peter Dreier and Mayor Alexander Putz, the event was organised by Carolin Voelkner (City of Landshut) and Linda Pilz (Landkreis Landshut) with support from the Round Table on Inclusion in the Workplace.
The fair aimed to promote inclusive employment in the region by breaking down barriers in the job market. Around 25 companies, authorities, and organisations participated, offering practical lectures and a panel discussion on relevant topics. Holger Kiesel, Disability Officer of the Bavarian State Government, and Karl-Heinz Arians, Ministerial Director, addressed the visitors. The event provided a unique opportunity for attendees to better position themselves in the job market.
While no organisations have yet taken the initiative to establish a permanent inclusive job fair in the region, the organisers expressed intent to further develop and establish the event permanently.
The Inclusive Job Fair was praised for its successful debut, offering a platform for people with disabilities and chronic illnesses to connect with potential employers. With the support of local authorities and the Bavarian State Government, the organisers hope to make this event a permanent fixture in the region.
