Star Insure Partners with Street Smart to Boost Road Safety
Greg Murphy, motorsport personality and road safety campaigner, is thrilled to welcome Star Insure as the newest member of the Street Smart family. The founder and CEO of Star Insure, John Baker, views this partnership as a deliberate investment towards the safety and well-being of young Kiwi drivers and all road users.
Star Insure's support for the Street Smart programme is part of a mission to create lasting impact and improve the safety of young drivers. The practical course, designed to help young drivers understand vehicle dynamics, manage distractions, and improve decision-making behind the wheel, is held in a closed environment and was revitalised in 2022 with support from the Tony Quinn Foundation.
Subaru of New Zealand joined as the official vehicle sponsor of Street Smart last year, and the programme's focus remains on improving road safety, changing outcomes, and saving lives by equipping drivers with the necessary skills and awareness. Participants in the programme drive their own vehicles for most of the course, ensuring a realistic and relatable learning experience.
