New Sustainable Elementary School to Rise on Old Post Road in Hastedt
A new full-day elementary school is being constructed at the Old Post Road in Hastedt, marking a significant development for the community. The old school on the site was deemed too dilapidated for renovation, leading to a new construction on the same location.
Goldbeck Public Partner GmbH, a renowned general contractor and real estate services provider, has taken responsibility for the entire life cycle of the public investment. This includes structuring, financing, planning, construction, and long-term real estate operation. The company's expertise lies in managing and operating properties, developing customized sustainability concepts, and ensuring buildings are future-proof and economically efficient.
The new school will be built with a focus on sustainability. It will feature photovoltaic modules covering large parts of the roof areas and a green roof. To move away from fossil fuels, the school will be connected to the district heating network.

The construction process may demand a lot from the neighbors, but two years have been planned for the construction time. The total construction cost is approximately 21.5 million euros, and the new facilities are expected to be occupied for the 2026/27 school year.
The new construction will consist of a three-wing elementary school, a canteen, sports hall, and kindergarten. Finance Senator Björn Fecker emphasized that this investment will create a good learning environment for children, parents, teaching staff, and the entire neighborhood.
Notably, Goldbeck Public Partner GmbH is handling the construction of the new school under a public-private partnership (ÖPP or PPP). This partnership aims to bring together public and private sector expertise to deliver a high-quality, sustainable, and cost-effective educational facility for the community.
