In an exciting development, the IM Japan programme, a technical intern training scheme, has been launched to provide Thai workers with a unique opportunity to learn modern Japanese technology and practices. This initiative is a collaboration between Japan and Thailand's Department of Employment.

### Key Details and Requirements

The application process for the IM Japan programme is straightforward and free of charge. Recruitment for male applicants takes place in two phases: July 1–31 and August 1–31, 2025. Female applicants can apply from July 21–27, 2025.

Successful candidates will undergo four months of intensive Japanese language training, during which they will be provided with free meals and accommodation.

Upon completion of the programme, participants will receive a career-starting grant of ¥600,000 (approximately 134,450 baht). Moreover, the programme facilitates placement in Japanese companies, offering practical work experience in a professional environment.

### A Structured Pathway to Technical Skills and Employment

The IM Japan programme aims to equip Thai workers with the necessary skills to excel in the Japanese job market. After completing the programme, participants may apply for the Specified Skilled Worker status of residence in Japan, provided they pass the required Japanese language and skill exams.
