Jordanian Edtech Startup Abwaab Raises $2.4M for AI-Driven Learning
Jordanian edtech startup Abwaab has made waves in the Middle East and North Africa, securing the largest pre-seed round raised by a startup in the region. The company has bagged $2.4 million to fuel its growth and innovation.
Founded just six months ago by Hamdi Tabbaa and Hussein Alsarabi, Abwaab is an online learning platform targeting secondary school students in the MENA region. The platform currently offers over 1,000 videos covering STEM subjects, tailored to the Jordanian market.
Abwaab plans to use the investment to expand its educational platform and enhance its technology and content offerings. It aims to provide personalized learning journeys for students using AI, adapting to each learner's pace and style. The startup also has plans to scale its presence across other markets in the region.
The platform operates on a freemium subscription model, with prices ranging from $100 to $200 per subject or all four subjects together. This approach allows Abwaab to improve out-of-school learning experiences for Arabic-speaking youth, regardless of their financial background.
With its $2.4 million pre-seed round, Abwaab is well-positioned to grow its team, develop its product, and expand its reach across the MENA region. The startup's innovative use of AI and freemium model promise to revolutionize out-of-school learning experiences for secondary students in the Middle East and North Africa.
