Kassel Mentoring Project Seeks More Volunteers for Youth Transition

A mentoring project in Kassel is seeking more volunteers to support young people, particularly those from migrant or refugee backgrounds, as they transition from school to work. The project, funded by the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration, is coordinated by Brigitte Vogler and offers a range of support services for both mentees and mentors.

The mentorship project, run by AGiL employment promotion agency, provides career orientation, application writing assistance, internship and apprenticeship search support, and interview preparation. Mentors also collaborate with schools to train young people for real job interviews. Currently, around 50 volunteers are involved, but more life- and work-experienced individuals from the city and the organization are needed.

Volunteers are integrated into a well-organized and professionally supervised network. They receive compensation for their expenses and can participate in regular meetings, networking events, and further training opportunities. The project is part of MentorMe, a major mentoring community focused on women's career development in the DACH region, founded in 2015 by Karin Heinzl. While contact information for MentorMe is not explicitly provided, they collaborate with various partners and offer memberships for mentoring services.

If you're interested in volunteering, you can contact Brigitte Vogler, the project coordinator, at 0561−1003 1275 or via email at [email protected]. Your life and work experience can make a significant difference in supporting young people as they navigate their transition into the workforce.
