List of Scholastic Achievements - April 2020
Several students at the Academic Excellence program have been recognised for their academic achievements in the Winter 2020 term. James Warren, Kylie Welsh, and Julie Satele, all AOS in Digital Photography, have made the Honor Roll. Kylie Welsh and Hannah Wessel, AOS in Graphic Design, have also been honoured, with Hannah Wessel earning a place on the President's List.
The criteria for academic honours at the Academic Excellence program typically require students to complete at least 12 credit hours of letter-graded college-level courses and achieve a minimum GPA of 3.5 for quarterly honours such as the Honor Roll. For those aiming for graduation honours, a minimum GPA of 3.8 through the winter quarter is necessary.
In addition to the Academic Excellence program, other institutions have their own criteria for academic honours. For instance, at Syracuse University, the minimum GPA for academic honours varies depending on the school or college, ranging from 3.4 to 3.6. The exact honours designation depends on semester GPA ranges, with 3.5–3.7 qualifying for the Dean’s List and 3.8+ for the Distinguished Dean’s List.
At the local college, students who earn these honours receive an official letter of recognition and a resume honor. Among the students who have made the Honor Roll with Distinction are Kristy Nilsson, UC in Graphic Design, Bethany Robbins, AOS in Graphic Design, and Nico Hicks, AOS in Illustration.
The Academic Excellence program has three levels of recognition: Honor Roll, Honor Roll with Distinction, and a President's List. Students such as Sandra Baker, UC in Digital Photography, Derek Nimrichter, UC in Print Design, Scott Miksich, AOS in Digital Media, Kate Somes, UC in Illustration, Michelle Buck, AOS in Advertising Design, and Kimberly Colas, UC in Graphic Design, have been recognised with the Honor Roll.
Julie Satele, who is also on the President's List, and Michelle Buck have further distinguished themselves with their exceptional academic performance. Dannielle James, AOS in Digital Photography, and Bethany Hemesath, AOS in Graphic Design, have also made the Honor Roll. Katherine Orizal, AOS in Illustration, has previously been on the Honor Roll.
The Academic Excellence program continues to celebrate the achievements of its students, recognising their hard work and dedication to their studies. These honours serve as a testament to the institution's commitment to academic excellence and its students' success.
- The Academic Excellence program not only recognizes students for their academic achievements in traditional subjects but also honors those excelling in creative fields like Graphic Design, such as Kylie Welsh and Hannah Wessel, who have made the Honor Roll.
- In education-and-self-development contexts, one may not just learn traditional academic subjects, but also hone practical skills like graphic design, as demonstrated by the students at the Academic Excellence program who strive for learning and mastery in this area.
