Mikhail Mishustin initiates key strategic discussion at INNOPROM event
In Yekaterinburg, Russia, the 13-year-old INNOPROM international industrial exhibition hosted a strategic session, attracting over a thousand companies from more than 35 countries. The event featured discussions on key strategies for achieving sustainable production and industrial renewal, with a focus on innovation, international cooperation, and environmentally responsible technologies.
One such area of focus was the aviation industry. In Russia, the 'Ivolga' train of a new generation is currently being tested on the Moscow Central Diameter. Meanwhile, in the Sverdlovsk region, the production of an updated version of the 'Lastochka' electric train with fully domestic systems and aggregates has begun. Systematic work is underway to replace foreign components with domestic ones on locomotives in Russia.
Notable participants included the Prime Minister of Russia, Mikhail Mishustin, who addressed the session, and the Governor of Sverdlovsk region, Yevgeny Kuyvashev. Kazakhstan, a strategic trade and economic partner of Russia with high mutual investment levels, was also represented, with a delegation consisting of 250 companies and nearly a thousand delegates. Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Alihan Smailov noted that the Innoprom international exhibition platform has proven its effectiveness.
The pool of joint projects has expanded this year, with over $33 billion in total investment across 125 projects. Some of these projects include large-scale collaborations such as tire production with Tatneft, mainline diesel locomotives and electric locomotives with Transmashholding, and cable and wire products with Evraz Cable.
In addition to Russia and Kazakhstan, Belarus participated as a partner country, with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Roman Golovchenko, in attendance. Belarus and Russia have developed 17 import-substituting investment projects in mechanical engineering and microelectronics, totaling over 80 billion rubles.
India, as a partner country, emphasized the importance of boosting bilateral ties, free trade agreements, and collaborative investments to promote sustainable industrial growth. Oman showcased its initiative to develop a national project for biogas and bio-carbon dioxide production from organic waste, demonstrating a move towards circular economy principles and renewable resource utilization within industrial sectors.
China's Chenyue Technology focused on producing high-quality, safe, and environmentally friendly products, highlighting the importance of maintaining product excellence while reducing environmental impact in sustainable production.
