Missing Texas Woman Found in Scottish 'Cult', Family Alleges Brainwashing
A Texas woman, Kaura Taylor, who went missing from Dallas in 2023, has been found living in the 'Magic Kingdom of Kubala' in Jedburgh, Scotland. Her family alleges she was brainwashed and coerced by an African 'cult' led by Kofi Offeh and Jean Gasho, who refer to themselves as 'The King' and 'The Queen'.
Kaura's mother, Melba Whitehead, is urging authorities to deport her daughter back to the US, claiming she is under the influence of the group. However, Kaura denies being coerced and insists she is not in a cult, stating she has the freedom to leave if she wants to. Offeh and Gasho also deny the allegations of brainwashing and coercion, with Offeh stating that everyone in the group is 'called' and not coerced.
Scottish authorities are currently assessing a report involving welfare and safety concerns regarding the 'Magic Kingdom of Kubala'. The Home Office has been approached for comment on the situation. Rachael Reign, an expert on spiritual abuse and coercive religions, believes the group has all the hallmarks of a cult.
The 'Magic Kingdom of Kubala' remains a subject of investigation, with authorities examining welfare and safety concerns. Kaura Taylor's family continues to express their worries, while Kaura and the group's leaders maintain their stance that no coercion is involved. The Home Office is yet to comment on the situation.
