MTN amplifies its commitment to Information and Communication Technology education

MTN, a telecom giant, drops four snazzy new laptops on the New Asafo M/A Basic School in Asafo Municipality, Ashanti Region. This generous gift aims to beef up the school's ICT education, harping on the significance of technology in today's world.
Dubbed as the "Kumasi Yello Care Event," this annual event by MTN gets the ball rolling on several nationwide initiatives. A team from MTN visited the school, engaging with students and encouraging them to embrace ICT, as it's the way forward.
Before touring the school, Selorm Adadevoh, MTN's contact person, paid a visit to the Asokwa Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Akwannuasa Gyimah. The school, under the administrative jurisdiction of the Asokwa Municipal Assembly, was the lucky recipient of this tech-fueled kindness.
Adadevoh handed over the brand-new laptops to the school, Encouraging students to develop a deep appreciation for technology. He also hinted at MTN's plans to help the school set up a functioning computer lab soon, once they've acquainted themselves with the school's current ICT setup.
In an interview, the MTN CEO disclosed that this educational stint around June is part of MTN's annual program, dubbed as "21 Days of Yellow Care." This exciting event sees MTN roll out initiatives all over the country, with the primary focus on enhancing ICT and digital skills training, especially in underprivileged schools like the New Asafo M/A Basic School.
The 2025 theme, "Connecting at the Roots – Connecting Communities Through the Use of Digital Tools," encapsulates MTN's efforts to bridge the digital divide in rural and marginalized communities, ultimately promoting inclusion through technology.
In collaboration with volunteers from various regions, MTN is working tirelessly to empower communities by teaching digital skills, helping small businesses get online, supporting ICT hubs, and advocating for mobile money usage, among other admirable initiatives.

Headmistress of the New Asafo M/A Basic School, Madam Grace Opoku Konadu, thanked MTN but requested more resources to help provide comprehensive digital education for the students.
