Müschede Elementary School's Break Hall Undergoes Major Renovation
Müschede Elementary School in Arnsberg is undergoing a major renovation of its break hall. The project, funded through the Ganztagsausbau funding guideline, aims to update the fifty-year-old structure in terms of energy, statics, and technology. The city has allocated 415,000 euros for the renovation, with work commencing during the summer holidays.
The hall has been completely gutted, and reconstruction has been underway for about eight weeks. Currently, work is focused on insulating the strip foundations and installing the new aluminum-glass facade. The roof structure renewal will begin in the coming days, followed by laying the screed. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2026.
The city's building management is overseeing the core renovation, which is crucial for the school's operations. The construction company involved in the sports maintenance room renovation remains unnamed. After-school care, which usually takes place in the break hall, is temporarily housed in the neighboring parish hall, which has been rented and prepared for this purpose.
Upon completion, the renovated hall will be available for after-school care, preparing the city for the legal requirement in 2026. The renovation aims to improve the hall's energy efficiency and technological capabilities, benefiting the 110 students enrolled at Müschede Elementary School.
