North Rhine-Westphalia has launched a comprehensive guide, 'Self-Protection Tips for Disaster Situations', to aid residents in emergency situations. The 31-page brochure, released on June 6, 2023, is part of the statewide campaign 'Ready like never before' and aims to promote self-preparedness in disaster protection. Interior Minister Herbert Reul endorses the guide, emphasizing the importance of individual preparedness.
The guide covers eleven typical emergency scenarios, including blackouts, fires, and the use of warning sirens. It provides practical help and answers on how to prepare for various crisis situations such as power outages, storms, or extreme heat. The brochure will be distributed free of charge from late September through various channels like disaster protection days, regional governments, and aid organizations like ASB, DLRG, DRK, JUH, MHD, VdF, and THW.
The guide is accessible in multiple formats to cater to different needs. It is available in print, audio, digital, and easy-to-read language versions. Additionally, communities can print their own copies with their logo using the editable version.
