Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the B.Tech. Food Technology program, applicants must have passed 10+2 (Science) or an equivalent certificate with specific subject requirements. Candidates must have 100 full marks each in Chemistry and Mathematics, passed with at least a Second Division or Final Grade C. They must also have passed English with 100 full marks. Other subjects require a minimum GPA of 1.6.

Alternative qualifications include a three-year diploma from CTEVT with 100 full marks in English, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and at least a Second Division. A-Level students with subjects in English, Chemistry, and Mathematics with at least a D grade are also eligible. For foreign qualifications, equivalency certificates must be submitted from the Curriculum Development Centre, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur.

Application Process

The application process is conducted online only. The application period for 2082 began on 2082/04/20 and ends on 2082/05/19. The entrance examination fee is NPR 1650, which must be paid through Global IME Bank Ltd. or online through the admission portal.

Due to violations of entrance exam rules, some private colleges have been banned from admitting B.Tech. Food Technology students for 2082. Candidates must apply through official channels and participate in the official entrance exam at IOST or its authorized campuses/colleges.

Exam Details

The entrance exam consists of multiple-choice questions in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Language Aptitude (English). The duration of the exam is 2 hours, and there will be no negative marking. Admit cards will be provided online a few days before the entrance examination, and candidates must bring a valid photo ID to the exam center.

The program follows a semester system with grading. The entrance exam is compulsory, and unauthorized admissions in certain affiliated colleges have been prohibited by the university.
