New Training Academy for Chamber of Crafts Karlsruhe to be Built in Geradstetten

The construction industry in Geradstetten, a district east of Stuttgart, is gearing up for a significant development. The existing training center located on the banks of the Rems is undergoing new construction, marking a major investment of around 215 million euros.

This project has already received a notice of 21 million euros from Minister of Economic Affairs Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, with the federal government set to cover 45% of the costs and the state of Baden-Württemberg contributing 25%. The Chamber of Crafts itself will cover the remaining 30%.

The new training academy, once completed, will serve seven urban and rural districts in the region, making it the largest single investment in the history of the Chamber of Crafts. It will also be the largest German educational center for construction machinery, housing the industry's most comprehensive training facilities.

The winner of the architectural competition for this ambitious project is Harter + Kanzler & Partner from Freiburg. The construction industry of Baden-Württemberg has also secured a place in the project network of the International Building Exhibition IBA27.

The project in Geradstetten is one of the largest construction projects in Baden-Württemberg, reflecting the region's ongoing commitment to infrastructure development. However, recent news does not provide specific updates on the status of this project or the new training academy in Neureut, northwest of Karlsruhe.

Cross-company training, which is part of the mandatory curriculum for dual vocational training, is also underway in the construction industry of Baden-Württemberg. Off-the-job training, compulsory for all training companies and trainees since 1969, ensures that trainees from different companies receive the same practical content.

The new Training Academy in Geradstetten, upon completion, will serve as a significant hub for education-and-self-development in construction, contributing to the learning and skill enhancement of trainees in seven districts. This project, funded by the federal government, state of Baden-Württemberg, and the Chamber of Crafts, aims to become the largest German educational center for construction machinery, providing comprehensive facilities for the industry.
