The Department of Social Welfare and Development's (DSWD) Cash-for-Work (CFW) program has provided financial aid and practical work experience to 474 students and recent graduates from Davao del Norte State College. The program, part of the DSWD's Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay modality under the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services, aims to alleviate poverty and develop skills among young people.

The CFW program offers participants paid opportunities to work on community projects, providing them with immediate financial relief and valuable work experience. Many of the recipients are facing significant economic challenges in transitioning to employment, and the program offers a much-needed source of income.

In addition to financial aid, the DSWD has also provided seminars to equip graduate beneficiaries with practical knowledge and soft skills. A mini-seminar titled "Stand Out: Personal Branding and Professionalism for Young Job Seekers" was conducted by the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole-Davao). The seminar was tailored to help youth beneficiaries prepare for future job opportunities in a competitive and rapidly changing labor market.

The CFW program is designed to build the work ethic and community engagement of young people. By engaging in community-based work and services, recipients not only gain practical skills but also contribute to the betterment of their communities. The DSWD Field Office-Davao Regional Director Rhuelo Aradanas lauded the program for offering immediate income support and building the work ethic and community engagement of young people.

The CFW program continues to serve as one of the DSWD's key strategies in addressing unemployment and underemployment among vulnerable sectors, particularly youth. By providing practical work experience and skills training, the program aims to enhance the employability and economic independence of its participants.
