Recognition Bestowed in 2025: Koehler Paper Award Highlights Exceptional Scholarly Success in the Fields of Process Engineering and Paper Technology
The Koehler Paper Award was presented for the fourth consecutive year by Koehler Paper, a company within the Koehler Group, to HM Hochschule München, Germany. The annual event aims to recognize and support exceptional academic performance in the paper processing industry.
This year, the award was given to graduates in the "Paper Technology" and "Paper and Biofiber Process Engineering" programs. Fabian Noss, a master's graduate, was honored for his top-tier performance in minerals, coating, and specialty paper subjects, while Manuel Ebmeyer, a bachelor's graduate, received the award for his outstanding academic achievements in biopolymer chemistry, biogenic fibers, and surface finishing.
Simon Ketterer, Head of Personnel Consulting and Support, handed out the awards. He emphasized Koehler Paper's commitment to supporting young talent as they enter the industry and facilitating knowledge transfer between universities and the industrial sector. Thomas Peter, General Production Manager at the Koehler Paper mill in Kehl, Germany, also participated in the award ceremony.
Thomas Peter stated that the Koehler Paper Award is a tangible expression of the belief that young talent in scientific fields is vital to the future of the paper industry. He added that the award aims to foster dedicated young talent and strengthen productive exchanges between academia and industry stakeholders.
Each recipient received 1,000 euros and a certificate printed on handmade paper produced by Koehler. The awards were presented at the official HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences graduation ceremony. The Koehler Paper Award honors extraordinary academic performance in areas crucial to the paper processing industry.
