Required for the Yoole project: Construction of ten elementary schools
The City of Münster is launching the third round of its sustainability project, "With YooLe out of School - Sustainably Active". Funded by the Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Transport NRW, this initiative is a collaborative effort between the social enterprise YooLeo and various learning locations in the city.
The project, whose name is derived from the cooperation partner Yooleo and "L" for local and "e" for experience, aims to show children how municipal actors, companies, associations, and clubs implement the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals in practice.
YooLeo has created age-appropriate videos on these global sustainability goals, which will serve as the starting point for discussions and activities. The learning locations include the Chamber of Crafts, the waterworks of the Stadtwerke Münster, the Rucksack full of hope - for Münster e.V., the digital laboratory of the City of Münster, and the FAIR trading company.
The kick-off event for the project will take place on Wednesday, 24 September, from 9 to 11 am, in the Lublin Room of the City Wine House (Prinzipalmarkt 6). This event will provide detailed information about the project and registration is required. Schools can find out about the project and participation by telephone on 02 51 / 4 92-67 50 or by email at [email protected]. Registration for the event can be done online at www.stadt-unser.de/gruen/aktuelles.
After engaging with the topics through the videos and impulses, the children visit up to four thematically suitable learning locations in Münster. The videos cover topics such as "Less Inequality", "Measures for Climate Protection", and "International Partnerships".
The project is open to primary schools in Münster that would like to participate with their classes or groups in the open day care. However, the schools participating in the third round and the exact learning locations in the city have not been publicly specified in available sources.
The project is organized by the Department of Green Spaces, Environment and Sustainability of the City of Münster. This initiative continues to encourage young minds to understand and contribute to the United Nations' sustainability goals, demonstrating the potential impact each individual and the school can make.
