European Mobility Week Encourages Sustainable Transport in Rhein-Kreis Neuss

The European Mobility Week (EMW), an annual campaign promoting sustainable urban mobility, will take place from September 16 to 22. This year, the event is titled the Future Day of the Alliance for Climate and Sustainability and is scheduled for Saturday, September 16.

During the EMW, numerous actions around the topic of "sustainable mobility" are planned in Rhein-Kreis Neuss. Local authorities are invited to participate by using the EMW as a platform to trial new mobility ideas, showcase infrastructure and technology, and engage directly with residents.

Rhein-Kreis Neuss, a local authority in the region, is likely to participate in the EMW with its eight municipalities. Typical activities may include local events, campaigns, and infrastructure promotion to support walking, cycling, public transport, and car-free events.

This year's theme for the European Mobility Week is "Mobility for Everyone," emphasizing transportation systems that are safe, affordable, inclusive, and accessible. The campaign aims to show that sustainable mobility improves the quality of life for everyone.

Participants in Rhein-Kreis Neuss have a chance to win the main prize, a family voucher for the Alpenpark (Neuss Ski Hall). Other prizes include bicycle accessories, cinema, and library vouchers, as well as vouchers for a family day at Bobbolandia Grevenbroich and Beros Kinderwelt in Neuss for younger winners.

To participate, participants should submit their artwork by September 13. The artwork should include the participant's name, age, class, and school. The European Mobility Week is a campaign of the EU Commission, coordinated in Germany by the Federal Environment Agency. It takes place annually in September in all 27 EU member states and many other countries.

By participating in the EMW, Rhein-Kreis Neuss joins other local authorities across Europe in promoting sustainable urban mobility and improving the quality of life for its residents.
