In the city of Landshut, the "cool2school" project is set to continue into the upcoming 2024/25 academic year. This initiative, which is actively operating in Landshut, aims to promote a safe and harmonious school environment.

The "cool2school" project is a collaborative effort between the Landshut Volunteer Agency, the city utilities, the Traffic Safety Association, and the police. The project is funded by the Dominik Brunner Foundation.

The school bus patrol officers, who are the students participating in the project, received a certificate of merit and a token of appreciation from the city utilities. This token includes a 10-visit card for the city bath or a free monthly bus pass for August.

The students in the "cool2school" project serve as school bus patrol officers. They maintain order at bus stops and on city buses operated by the City of Landshut Utilities. They also help mediate conflicts and provide support to bus drivers in school traffic.

Last year, 37 students participated in the "cool2school" project. A follow-up seminar by the police teaches the patrol officers about civil courage and de-escalation techniques. Six Landshut schools are participating in the project for the upcoming academic year.

A celebration was held at the City Bath to mark the end of the academic year for the "cool2school" project participants. Michaela Leicht, Deputy Mayor Dr. Thomas Haslinger, Michael Rott, and Police Chief Commissioner Thomas Simbürger attended the celebration. They emphasized the importance of voluntary engagement for social cohesion and the value of projects like "cool2school".

For interested students, they can sign up at their school or contact project coordinator Michaela Leicht via email at ml@[freiwilligen-agentur-our website] or phone at 0871 - 20 66 27 35.

Without detailed, publicly available information, it is currently not possible to name the exact funding body. However, it is recommended to directly contact the Stadt Landshut or the participating schools to obtain a reliable and up-to-date response. Other potential sources of information include local media, such as the Landshuter Zeitung, Wochenblatt, and idowa, which often report on educational projects and name the sponsors.
