Park University Stands with the Global Community in Times of Uncertainty

Park University, a institution deeply rooted in global citizenship and community stewardship, is making strides to support its students and staff during challenging times. The recent conflict has affected individuals from Ukraine, Russia, and students from other countries, and the University is taking action to provide assistance.

As a core part of its liberal arts mission, Park University aims to shine a beacon of light in a time that demands leadership and a devotion to the universal applicability of its core values. The world in which students serve, the world in which the University lives, and the world they all have a stake in preserving are subjects of ongoing discussions.

Thousands of Park University students and alumni serve in the U.S. Armed Forces, and the University is committed to supporting them. Serving those who serve is a responsibility felt by the University. This week, Park University officials met with students, faculty, and staff at Joint Base San Antonio to offer support and solidarity.

International students have been an integral part of Park University since 1880. The University's International Education office offers guidance and support to these students, providing assistance with immigration and visa processes, orientation, housing, and tailored outreach to help students adjust and succeed, especially during difficult times such as global conflicts.

The University's core values are guiding principles in these discussions. Park University stands with the Ukrainian people and is committed to leading principled and critical discussions about the world. If you seek exact services by Park University, the best approach would be to consult their International Student Office or equivalent directly, as they typically offer specialized programming to navigate global disruptions and support international student success.

In addition to international student support, Park University offers a range of services to help students cope with challenging times. The Counseling Center and Health Services at Park University provide support to students at no charge. Faculty and staff can find details about support offered via the Employee Assistance Plan on the Human Resource Services page in MyPark.

Shane B. Smeed, the President of Park University, emphasizes the University's commitment to its international community. "Park University is a part of the international community," he said. "We are here to support our students, faculty, and staff during these challenging times, and we will continue to work towards creating a safe, welcoming campus environment with cultural and community programs."

This semester, Park University serves students from Ukraine, Russia, and 57 other countries. The recent meeting served as a reminder to never take freedom for granted. The University is dedicated to creating a space where all students can thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances.
