Singapore Appoints Abigail Ng as New Chief Sustainability Officer
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has appointed Abigail Ng as its new chief sustainability officer. Ng brings a wealth of experience, having led the markets policy and consumer department at MAS and spearheaded various sustainability initiatives.
Ng's appointment reflects MAS's commitment to advancing its sustainable finance strategy. She has been instrumental in developing policies and engaging internationally on sustainability issues. Before joining MAS, Ng worked as a public prosecutor with the Singapore Legal Service, honing her skills in policy development and stakeholder engagement.
Under her leadership, MAS has launched initiatives like the Finance for Net Zero Action Plan and the Singapore-Asia Taxonomy. Ng has also worked on projects such as the Transition Credits Coalition (TRACTION) and the Financing Asia's Transition Partnership (FAST-P). Her expertise will be crucial in driving MAS's next phase of sustainable finance strategy.
Ng succeeds Gillian Tan, who will continue to lead MAS's development and international group. Ng's appointment signals MAS's dedication to its green finance hub aspirations and the growing maturity of its sustainability work.
