In the heart of Tychy, the "Wrzos" Day Care Centre played host to a creative and sustainable soap-making workshop last week. Organized by our website in collaboration with Stellantis, the event aimed to promote well-being, creativity, and ecology among its participants.

The workshop was a haven for 18 seniors who, under the guidance of skilled instructors, crafted their own personalized soap bars using natural ingredients. The focus of the workshop was on scents and colours, allowing participants to experiment with their own unique creations.

The natural soap-making process involved using traditional fats or oils like rendered lard, coconut oil, olive oil, and castor oil. These natural fats form the base of soap through saponification with lye (caustic soda). By avoiding synthetic additives, the homemade soaps produced were free from harmful chemicals often found in conventional soaps.

Cold-process soap making with plant-based infusions and essential oils was another key approach. This method allowed the use of eco-friendly ingredients like mint mate tea, essential oil blends, and natural scents instead of artificial fragrance chemicals.

Incorporating powdered activated carbon, especially from sustainable sources like coconut shells, was another innovative technique used. Activated carbon detoxifies and enhances skin qualities, providing a natural alternative to plastic microbeads found in exfoliating scrubs.

The soap-making workshop did not involve any microplastics, making it environmentally friendly. Many conventional soaps contain microplastics, which are harmful to aquatic life and ecosystems. By choosing natural ingredients, the workshop aimed to protect aquatic life and ecosystems.

By participating in the workshop, the seniors not only learned safe methods for creating homemade, skin-friendly cosmetics but also contributed to a more sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle. In a cozy and friendly atmosphere, they embraced creativity, ecology, and well-being, making the workshop a resounding success.

The workshop's goal was to integrate ecology, creativity, and well-being. It continued to promote creativity among its participants, encouraging sustainable, personalized soap production without reliance on harmful synthetic chemicals. The workshop is a testament to the growing interest in eco-friendly living and the positive impact such initiatives can have on our community.

  1. In the spirit of sustainable living, the seniors vessel education-and-self-development by learning safe methods to create homemade, eco-friendly soaps at the workshop.
  2. The fusion of lifestyle, fashion-and-beauty, and home-and-garden was evident as the seniors experimented with scents, colors, and eco-friendly ingredients like mint mate tea, essential oils, and activated carbon while crafting their personalized soap bars.
