Stanislav Ioudenitch Inducted into the Steinway & Sons Teacher Hall of Fame
In a ceremony held on Sept. 29 at the Steinway factory in New York City, renowned pianist and educator Stanislav Ioudenitch was inducted into the 2021 class of the Steinway & Sons Teacher Hall of Fame.
Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Ioudenitch rose to prominence in the world of classical music when he won the gold medal at the 11th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2001. Since then, his accomplishments as a performer have been notable, but it is his work as a mentor that has truly set him apart.
Ioudenitch is the artistic director of Park University's International Center for Music (ICM), which he founded in 2003. Under his leadership, the ICM fosters passion, creativity, and discipline in the next generation of piano artists. This is evident in the accomplishments of his proteges, many of whom have gone on to achieve great success in their own right.
One such student is Kenny Broberg, a graduate student in the ICM, who was the silver medalist at the 15th Van Cliburn event in 2017. Another is Behzod Abduraimov, an artist-in-residence at the ICM, who won the 2009 London International Piano Competition.
Ioudenitch was nominated for the Steinway & Sons Teacher Hall of Fame by Gordon McNelly, owner and president of the Steinway Piano Gallery of Kansas City. McNelly found it a privilege to nominate Ioudenitch for the prestigious designation, praising his local and global contribution to piano education and performance.
The Steinway & Sons Teacher Hall of Fame honors North America's most committed and passionate piano educators. Ioudenitch joins a distinguished group of inductees, including Fabio Parrini, Stephanie Cheng, Juan Duran Chang, Xun Pan, and Jennifer Song.

Pan, a Chinese-American pianist and Steinway Artist, was inducted in 2023. He holds a DMA and has won numerous international piano competitions. As a teacher, he contributes to the next generation of pianists with his international experience.
