Student Hwan (2025 Graduate): Decade of Development Within Our Educational Institute

New and Improved Tale:

Hwan, now gearing up to leap into a fresh adventure after a decade of growth and triumph at our esteemed institution, is about to turn the page on a captivating chapter and catapult into the next - all while carrying a heart filled with profound gratitude for the individuals and incidents that have played a pivotal role in shaping his odyssey.

Hwan first set foot in our abode in Grade 3 and swiftly became an energetic and dynamic presence within the school community. From donning the school colors at international swimming meets and embarking on breathtaking camp excursions to spearheading scholarly projects, every opening was seized with exuberance and determination.

Education for Hwan has always been a multi-faceted voyage - one that harmoniously blends academics with extracurricular endeavors. With a conditional admission to study Law at King's College London, he has proven himself as a gifted leader, having served as the Chapter President of Vietnam DECA for 2024-2025.

When posed the question to succinctly capture his schooling years in three words, Hwan chose three words that encapsulated his experience: enclosed, self-reliant, and convivial.

"Being surrounded by people who I've known since Grade 3, the school felt like home," Hwan expressed. This sense of belonging nurtured his self-confidence and independence, whether it be through the self-directed learning of Studio 5, tackling the challenge of his Extended Essay, or feeling a surge of pride presenting at the opening night of the Middle Years Programme Personal Project fair.

Of all the defining moments along his school expedition, one memory stands out: his first taste of academic freedom during the PYP Exhibition. Hwan recounts this experience as a life-changing moment that gave him a blueprint for taking charge - a trait that has held fast through the final days of the IB Diploma Programme.

Looking into the future, Hwan is eager to venture beyond the familiarity of Vietnam and embrace life beyond its borders. "I'm thrilled for the little things like riding public transportation!" he joked. However, beneath the jovial facade lies a solid foundation grounded in meaningful friendships and transformative learning.

"Don't wallow, you completed the IB." That's Hwan's advice to his future self. And with the legacy he leaves behind, it's evident that Hwan has achieved much more than just completing an IB program. He has constructed a future powered by purpose, self-reliance, and lasting connections.

As he prepares for the new journey, Hwan's leadership roles within our school were defined by his responsibilities as the Chapter President of Vietnam DECA, heading key initiatives and student body representatives, and excelling in various academic pursuits. His future plans include continuing his legal education at King's College London and embarking on a rewarding career in law, driven by a strong foundation of critical thinking, argumentation, and a keen understanding of the global business and legal landscape.

  1. Hwan's leadership roles in school, such as being the Chapter President of Vietnam DECA, played a significant part in shaping his future, as he aims to pursue a career in law at King's College London.
  2. The education Hwan received at our school was more than just academics; it also emphasized personal growth through self-directed learning, self-reliance, and extracurricular activities.
  3. The school community, which Hwan joined in Grade 3 and considered his second home, played a crucial role in his development, fostering a sense of belonging that boosted his self-confidence and independence.
  4. Hwan's school journey, from Grade 3 to the IB Diploma Programme, has been marked by important learning experiences, among which the PYP Exhibition stood out as a life-changing opportunity for him to learn about self-reliance and taking charge.
