Prenzlauer Diesterweg-Grundschule, a primary school located in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg district, recently celebrated the end of the school year with a special three-day event known as "Three Fantastic Days." This annual tradition serves as both a festive send-off for the school year and a way to honour retiring teachers and staff.

The first day of the event was a school festival filled with creative and fun workshops for students. These included arts and crafts, sports, music, and drama. Students also had the opportunity to showcase their talents or projects in performances or exhibitions. Community and parent involvement was encouraged, with opportunities to participate or support.

The schoolyards hosted a unique Olympic-style event with self-invented disciplines after the show. Students from all grades, from first to sixth, participated in the festivities. The performances were well-received and applauded by the audience.

The second day of the event was a final school trip of the year, with kindergarten teachers also joining.

On the third day, certificates were awarded to students. The school festival featured performances such as hip-hop, wind instrument classes, drumming on Cajons, and a school choir. The event's third day also included a special farewell ceremony to honour retiring teachers.

This year, the event paid tribute to three retiring teachers: Udo Wagenknecht, a teacher for computer science and mathematics, Heidi Werner, a German and English teacher, and music teacher Ronald Lewin. Heidi Werner contributed to stage design and theater performances, while Ronald Lewin has been responsible for the musical direction of the school's production for many years.

The stage show ended with a thank-you performance for Heidi Werner, Ronald Lewin, and Udo Wagenknecht. The school principal, Anne Obermeyer, mentioned that the school has many talented students who are given a stage during the festival. She also expressed hope that they will continue to count on the support of these retiring teachers for the musical production planned for 2027.

It's worth noting that the "Three Fantastic Days" event is organised by the school itself and does not involve any event agency or expensive performers. The event is a vibrant and heartfelt tradition that celebrates community, learning, creativity, and the valuable service of school staff. The school hopes to continue this tradition in the coming years.

Education and self-development were at the forefront of the "Three Fantastic Days" event organized by Prenzlauer Diesterweg-Grundschule. The first day featured creative workshops in arts, sports, music, and drama, providing students opportunities to showcase their talents and projects. Additionally, the school's two-day trip on the second and third days offered students a valuable experiential learning opportunity.
