Telecom Namibia Boosts Global Youth Dialogue and AI-Driven Learning in Namibia

In a significant move towards bridging the digital divide and fostering innovation, Telecom Namibia has provided high-speed internet connectivity for two groundbreaking initiatives.

Firstly, the company sponsored the 1st Commonwealth Youth Consultative Dialogue, held at the Windhoek Country Club from 4 - 8 August 2025. This event, hosted by the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, brought together youth representatives from all 56 Commonwealth countries. The 100Mbps dedicated internet line supplied by Telecom Namibia ensured seamless live streaming and webcasting of the dialogue sessions, allowing for real-time interaction between delegates, media, and virtual participants globally.

Secondly, Telecom Namibia supported the YYeni AI Luderitz Pilot, a five-month research project launched at the Luderitz Secondary School in July 2025. This project integrates artificial intelligence tutoring with traditional teacher-led instruction and aims to develop a scalable blueprint for AI-assisted learning in Namibia's public education system.

Dr. Stanley Shanapinda, CEO of Telecom Namibia, stated the company's goal is to enable progress through reliable, high-speed connectivity. The YYeni AI Luderitz Pilot project is endorsed by the Ministry of Education and aims to advance digital innovation in Namibia's education system. The ultimate aim is to expand the model to 25 schools and 2,500 learners by 2026.

The Commonwealth Youth Consultative Dialogue focused on shaping the future of education and innovation in Namibia. It aimed at addressing shared global challenges and was part of Telecom Namibia's ongoing commitment to national development, youth empowerment, and digital transformation.

By providing connectivity for these initiatives, Telecom Namibia is playing a crucial role in enabling digital access and infrastructure critical for both international youth engagement platforms and innovative AI educational projects within Namibia. The ultimate goal is to build a connected, knowledge-driven society in Namibia.

  1. Telecom Namibia's sponsorship of the YYeni AI Luderitz Pilot project demonstrates their commitment to education-and-self-development, as they aim to integrate technology like artificial intelligence into Namibia's public education system through AI-assisted learning.
  2. During the 1st Commonwealth Youth Consultative Dialogue, live streaming and webcasting sessions were made possible by Telecom Namibia's provision of a dedicated 100Mbps internet line, enhancing global learning and dialogue about the future of education and innovation in Namibia.
  3. By supporting initiatives such as the 1st Commonwealth Youth Consultative Dialogue and the YYeni AI Luderitz Pilot project, Telecom Namibia is leveraging technology to boost learning opportunities and drive continued advancements in education and self-development within Namibia.
