At the central study counseling of Bergische Universität Wuppertal, a ceremony was held to bid farewell to ten talented students who have been supported by the Wupper Scholarships program since 2019. The program, a key part of the university's talent scouting initiative, aims to attract and support high-achieving individuals from the region, providing them with financial aid, academic mentoring, and a platform to excel in their studies.

Prof. Dr. Susanne Buch, Pro-Rector for Studies and Teaching, gave a speech at the ceremony, referencing a poem by a former scholarship holder as a testament to the program's impact. The poem, recited at an earlier admission ceremony, spoke of departure and the power of new paths, symbolising the students' transition from the scholarship program and their journey into the future.

Prof. Dr. Gökçe, Holder of the Chair of Materials for Additive Manufacturing, emphasised the societal relevance of targeted educational support during the ceremony. He stated that programs like the Wupper Scholarships are indispensable for creating real development by conveying knowledge and trust to young people.

The Wupper Scholarships are open to committed young people regardless of their social background, reflecting the university's commitment to inclusivity and diversity. A cabaret piece "Notbremse" by Paul Kober, a graduate of Velbert-Mitte comprehensive school, was given special attention during the ceremony. Two harp performances provided the musical framework for the event, adding a touch of elegance and emotion to the proceedings.

The Wupper Scholarships program, in its role as a talent scouting initiative, is designed to identify and promote outstanding students, supporting their academic growth and integrating them into the university’s academic and research community. For exact details on the purpose and significance of the Wupper Scholarships in this context, including eligibility, benefits, and selection criteria, direct information from Bergische Universität Wuppertal’s official resources or scholarship materials would be necessary.

As these talented students move on from the Wupper Scholarships program, they leave behind a legacy of excellence and promise, setting a high bar for future recipients of the scholarship. The university looks forward to continuing its commitment to nurturing and supporting the next generation of leaders and experts.

These students, who have been supported through the Wupper Scholarships program's education-and-self-development efforts, are now embarking on new learning opportunities as they move on from the program. The program, with its focus on providing academic mentoring and scholarships to high-achievers, acts as a crucial stepping stone for young people, fostering their growth and integration into the university's academic and research community.
