Park University has announced a significant change in its leadership, with Michael Beach set to join the institution as the Vice President of Finance and Administration (VPFA). Beach's appointment, effective from July 18, 2022, marks a new era for the university's financial, accounting, and administrative operations.
Michael Beach brings a wealth of experience to his new role, with over 30 years of diverse financial and operational expertise across various industries. Prior to joining Park University, Beach served as Vice President of Finance, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer at Kansas City Kansas Community College since January 2018. Before that, he was Assistant Vice President for Finance and Treasurer at Southern Utah University for nearly seven years (March 2011 to January 2018).
In his new position, Beach will oversee the financial, accounting, and administrative operations of Park University. He will be responsible for ensuring the University has sufficient financial resources, including cash management and borrowing agreements. Beach will also be in charge of the strategic delivery of these operations, as well as the financial systems, reporting, and controls at Park University.
Moreover, Beach will oversee key offices such as the Office of Human Resources, Office of Information Technology Services, and Office of Facilities. He will also be responsible for the fiscal policies and regulations at Park University, ensuring the university operates within its financial guidelines and complies with all relevant regulations.
Beach is a certified public accountant and certified government financial manager. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree, a Master of Accountancy degree from Southern Utah University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Weber State University.
A resident of Kansas City, Mo. (Northland), Beach spent 17 years in public accounting/business advising and five years in manufacturing before venturing into the education sector.
